A Flower Stands Among the Parks

A flower stands among the parks
Beneath the bushes and the grass
Unseen by eyes of flying larks
To every rose, a stark contrast

A flower stands but not upright
It bends and crooks and blighted slight
As if upon it one threw shite
It has seen and survived a fight

With broken petals it's still living on
Torn and damaged, but still blooming on
Every tearful night she yearns for the dawn
(With) every fit of fright she had undergone

I can still see in her eyes
Behind those bravado lies
Scents of dignity and pride...

...or has it died?

After months of being unfinished,
